Eligibility: The GK Folks Foundation Business Plan Competition is open to established business owners interested in expanding their businesses and prospective business owners (including but not limited to students and startup founders) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older.
How to Participate: Participants may enter the competition individually or as part of a team by submitting an Application Form here: Each participant may serve on only one team or as an individual participant. Each team or individual may submit only one Application Form, however, each participant must agree to the terms of this Participation Agreement.
There are two competition phases: (1) Round 1 Judging and (2) the presentation and judging of business plans submitted by participants. During the round 1 phase, participants will submit their business idea and video pitch to a panel of judges. The judges will use the following evaluation criteria when reviewing the Business Concept and narrow the applicant to the 5 top.

- Was a detailed explanation of the business idea and value proposition provided?
- Was the justification of market potential included?
- Would the business idea be implemented as presented within the next year?
- Was the proposition to investors presented?
- Does the information provide entice the audience to want to know more about the business?
- Is the business plan complete and detailed with the information below?

Limitation of Liability: By entering this Competition, all participants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this Competition or any Competition-related activities and the acceptance of any prize awarded hereunder. You understand that you should not disclose any confidential information, trade secrets, or patentable subject matter in your Participant Materials at any stage of the Competition. You are solely responsible for protecting your rights or the rights of third parties in any intellectual property disclosed in your Participant Materials. You hereby represent and warrant that you have sufficient rights in any third party intellectual property contained in the Participant Materials in order to grant the licenses set forth in this Participation Agreement.
Miscellaneous: No transfer, assignment, or substitution of a prize permitted except by Sponsors who may substitute the prize with a prize of comparable or greater value at their sole and absolute discretion. Winners are responsible for all income, federal, state, and local taxes as well as any other costs or expenses associated with prize acceptance. All prize winners will be required to give back to their community and return to the GK Folks Foundation business plan program to be mentors in the future and help the foundation in other aspects of this entrepreneurship program.
