Job Description (Entrepreneurship Program)GK Folks Foundation is seeking a Project Coordinator to work on GK Folks Foundation's Entrepreneurship Economic Development Project. The Project Coordinator works with the team to plan, manage, implement, and report on the foundation's project.
This project is part of the Salt Lake County Economic Development plan to see an opportunity to grow the economy by ensuring that all entrepreneurs and small businesses achieve their potential. This is especially true for businesses from communities experiencing economic opportunity gaps.
GK Folks, in partnership with Salt Lake County, are working together to find these small businesses to help provide them access to resources that Business Services Partners in Salt Lake County will provide.
The Community Navigators will actively conduct outreach, create new relationships with businesses, understand their problems, and help solve those problems.

Principal Duties for Entrepreneurship ProgramAs a GK Folks Foundation Program Coordinator, you will typically:
- Attend weekly planning meetings and work on assigned responsibilities in the entrepreneurship Economic Development Project
- Submit weekly reports to the Program Manager via an online form for Action Plans
- Attend a monthly meeting of partners convened by the County
- Seek small business owners of the BIPOC community to connect with business service partners provided by Salt Lake County
- Actively conduct outreach, create new relationships with businesses, understand their problems, and help solve those problems.
- Register businesses found using Flip cause and Salt Lake County database, create an initial Action Plan for each business found, and work with Business service partners to understand the action plan and business needs and recommend relevant technical assistance needed for the business referred.
- Have an interest in nonprofits, especially the foundation's mission
- Have experience with outreach, coordination, and contract
- Have experience or knowledge of implementing best management practices for projects
- Be able to clarify and detail specific project requirements
- Delegate project tasks based on individual strengths, skill sets, and staff experience levels.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals
- With the help of the Executive director, work to meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
- With the help of the Executive director, develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with management as well as other staff members
- A year or less experience as a program coordinator or in project management
- Familiarity with collaboration and time management software tools
- Experience with process improvement
- Advanced time management and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
